New Lawn at the Courthouse
If you have been in downtown Henderson this past week, maybe you’ve noticed that the lawn in front of the courthouse has been ripped up. Now there’s a constrs uction fence around the area. Being worried that our last remaining strip of living grass in Henderson would be torn up, I started asking questions.
Much to my surprise, and delight, I learned that the grass will be coming back! The sprinkler system is going through an overhaul and then the area will be re-seeded.
While I fully understand that xeriscape saves water, I’m not a fan.
Grass and trees add humidity and cool down our climate. I am so excited that the lawn in front of the courthouse will only be absent for a little while.
