Santa Already in Town
The famous Mr. Claus is already stationed at the Galleria Mall, even though we just finished the first week of November. Pictures and visits with Santa will go on during regular mall hours up until Christmas Eve. As a mom, I’m delighted that Santa is at the mall earlier this year. Last year I never had enough time to stand in the horrendous line.
The Galleria at Sunset is also sponsoring a “Christmas Criers Contest” in which patrons submit photos of their children crying on Santa’s lap. The best photo will win a $500 shopping spree! Visit www.galleriaatsunset.com for more details.
A few holiday decorations have been seen around downtown Henderson in recent days. I heard that a friend of mine was a little disgusted with the early holiday preparations. However, I choose to believe that because of the recession, Christmas does need to come a little earlier this year. With all of the gloom and doom of people losing their jobs and their homes left and right, a little holiday cheer, no matter how early it is, can go a long way.
