Andrew Herron and former Uchi prep cook Thomas Stacy are opening a private, 20-seat tasting-menu restaurant, ReikiNa, at City Centre (800 Town and Country Blvd, #200) later this year.
The concept will focus on Asian cuisine through a European lens, and the menu will rotate every six to eight weeks. Guests will sit around an 11-foot communal table built by Stacy out of 200-year-old reclaimed white oak barn siding. ReikiNa will be BYOB to start, and sake and wine pairings are expected to be added.
For those interested in the concept, Stacy is hosting three pre-opening showcases at Sanman Studios in the Sawyer Yards area, each benefiting the Southern Smoke Foundation. Eight courses will be served and tickets are $150 per person. Go here for tickets.
Fegen’s, the new restaurant from the folks behind the original Liberty Kitchen (going into the former Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar in the Heights), will open officially Tuesday evening with dinner service. Lance Fegen, who’s serving as chef-owner of the restaurant, is showcasing a menu of American classics with Italian influence (think veal and pork tomato gravy and macaroni and mussels in tomato-garlic butter).
The word is out: Blood Bros. BBQ is opening a second location … but it’s a hike from here. The newest Blood Bros will be part of Resorts World Las Vegas’s Famous Foods Street Eats food hall when it opens this summer. It’ll do its celebrated Central Texas-style barbecue at the hall alongside stands like Streetbird (fried chicken by chef Marcus Samuelsson) and Kuru Kuru Pa Yakitori (a Japanese concept from DJ Steve Aoki and his brother Kevin Aoki).
