This restaurant won’t only be for beer drinkers and hellraisers, though you could bet they’ll be welcome.
(Robot Noodle, Millie’s Kitchen & Cocktails, Ready Room, Mapojeong Galbijib) announced Tuesday that its Shepherd Park Draught House is out, and going in will be Tres Amigos Cafe y Cantina.
The Garden Oaks restaurant is a collaboration between Delicious Concepts’s Ken and Christina Bridge, Pura Vida Tequila founder Stewart Skloss, and Billy Gibbons, lead singer and guitarist of legendary Houston rockers ZZ Top.
Thus the name Tres Amigos, which refers to Ken Bridge, Skloss, and Gibbons and is a reference to ZZ Top’s breakthrough 1973 album Tres Hombres. The restaurant will serve classic Tex-Mex (enchiladas, tacos, and the like) and be a place to check out old ZZ Top memorabilia from Bridge’s collection.
Plus—in an impressive show of charity—Tres Amigos will send 75 percent of its proceeds to the St. Jude Foundation.
“Christina and I are absolutely thrilled to be supporting such an amazing organization and to continue to give back to those in our company who have contributed so much to our success over the years,” said Ken Bridge in a press release.
Tres Amigos will also serve Pura Vida-exclusive margaritas and Texas beer. Expect live music, too. Will Gibbons himself—or even all of ZZ Top—get on stage sometime in the future? You’ll just have to keep your eye on it once the place soft-opens on April 22.
