Davidson Homes announced on Wednesday that they have expanded into the Houston area. The builder has secured lots in several local communities and expects to begin building homes for first-time and move-up homebuyers in July.
“Texas is an important strategic growth market that will allow us to build on the incredibly strong foundation we have established,” said Adam Davidson, founder, president and CEO of Davidson Homes in a press release.
The builder has appointed Jim Rorison as division president to head up operations in Houston. Rorison has worked in the city for two decades and has 35 years of experience in home building and finance. Before joining Davidson Homes, Rorison was president of a local Houston homebuilder. He has also led teams in Fortune 500 organizations, as well as private equity-owned companies.
Rorison will be reporting to Greg Duriez, chief operating officer for Davidson Homes. Rorison’s expertise in homebuilding and property development, understanding of the nuances of the Houston market and prior experience as a chief financial officer make him a good fit for this position, according to Duriez.
Texas is the fourth state Davidson Homes has entered in the past four years. The company also has over 8,000 lots in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee.
