Japanese-Based RAKKAN Ramen to Open Next Week at M-K-T Heights

The great Heights ramen boom is on.

While Las Vegas-based Shokku Ramen will move into BCK’s spot on Studewood soon, even sooner will be the grand opening of RAKKAN Ramen. This concept, with five American locations and three in Tokyo, will start serving up bowls on May 3 at M-K-T Heights.

RAKKAN Ramen does it a little different than most restaurants of its kind, specializing in 100-percent plant-based ramen broth.

For instance, its popular amber ramen has vegetable broth and essence of dried bonito and dried sardines, plus grilled pork, onion, parsley, bamboo shoots, seasoned egg, and noodles. RAKKAN also features a few vegan ramens including garnet, which has corn and tofu.

Along with ramen bowls, find rice bowls, hand rolls, buns, and appetizers, like gyoza and shumai.

RAKKAN Ramen will give out 100 complimentary ramen meals to mark its opening. The first 50—in voucher form—will be handed out at 11 a.m. May 3, while the other 50 will be passed out at 6 p.m. May 3.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday–Saturday.
