On Saturday, May 1, more than 60 active young professionals arrived at Dress for Success headquarters in Upper Kirby to support women empowerment. After taking a year off, the first in-person event of 2021 for Women of Wardrobe was originally planned as a picnic at Buffalo Bayou Park’s Hobby Pavilion. Due to the day’s inclement weather forecast, the team pivoted venues last minute.
That move became a walk-thru picnic, complete with boxed lunches from Common Bond Bakery, banana pudding from B.B. Lemon, and drinks from Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Ranch Rider Spirits, and Suja Juice. Attendees also enjoyed six curated raffle packages from local favorites Christy Lynn Collection, Bludorn, Mirth, Zadok Jewelers, and more.
The grab ‘n go event, presented by Camden, and sponsored by Sandy and Keith Oden, Melissa and Paul Dobrowski, and Tiffany LaRose (Houston Luxury Properties), raised more than $17,000 for DFSH, a local nonprofit that works to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
On the scene: Julia Russell (WOW President), Marianna Corcoran (Spring Fling Chair), Courtney Campo, Libby Gravatt, Desiree Urrutia, Ruba Ahmad, Julie Ann Ludeke, Paulina Strom, Jacqui Wait, Alex de Barros, Tiffany Hawthorne, and more young professionals.
