What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I was a tax preparer. It’s interesting to learn how beneficial it is to have that up to date and its impact on our communities and our country.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up partly in Mexico City and Houston.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I wanted to be a dentist to help people get a nice smile with no pain. Now I help people get a nice smile with an unpainful transaction at the closing table.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I meditate, drink some tea or do some kickboxing, whichever I feel like doing at that moment.

What is Houston’s best-kept secret?

All the History behind it. Nowadays, we may forget that we have hit a few milestones of American history within miles from our homes.

What do you love most about the industry?

I love helping families achieve a milestone in their lives, whether they’re buying a home for the first time, downsizing or investing.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Anything could be a challenge in this field, but it can be smooth for you and your client if you have a good support team.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Be open-minded about changes. Try new things and mix them in with the old ones that had worked for you.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?

Self-motivational books. My mentors recommended some interesting books regarding sales and law. I like to listen to country and R&B music.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?

I have a fave place for Tabbouleh and some curry in the heart of Houston.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?

TC Energy Center, also known as the Bank of America Center

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I went to a showing, and the seller invited my buyers to eat with them!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

People may be surprised by how funny I can be. I love to make people laugh and make them forget about stress a little.

What is your favorite vacation spot, and why?

My favorite vacation spot is Hawaii because you get to admire God’s majestic creations, from the ocean to the volcanoes and vegetation. It’s simply magical, and people make you feel like their OHANA [family in Hawaiian].
