Houston Art Car Parade. Orange Show Center For Visionary Art.

Houstonians rejoice for your beloved annual art car parade for 2021 is making a comeback this weekend, albeit with a few major twists! The three-day Art Car Experience is coming to the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art from 14-16 May.

Families and kids can explore the Orange Show Monument’s five-acre campus on foot through a maze of 80 bedazzled Art Cars. The parade also promises to include an interactive walking tour, wild costumes,performance arts, digital art installations, food, music and more!

What to expect at the Art Car Parade 2021 in Houston

Grab a loved one and enjoy the daytime show featuring-outdoor craft activities for children, an immersive digital audio-visual self-guided tours for families, artist discussions.

Post sun-down, live music, light and projection art, elaborate costumes, and special performances will mark the evening show.

Additionally, each art car will sport a barcode that will furnish interesting info on the vehicle as well as the artist, making this year’s event a more interactive and self paced affair.Refreshments, food trucks and art-car merchandise will also be available.

On Friday, the crowds will groove to live music performances by popular Houston bands Bayou City Funk and Tomar and The FCs and the following night Los Skarnales and The Suffers will dominate the stage. (Note: At the time of publishing this article tickets for Saturday night have already sold out)

Logistics For Houston Art Car Parade 2021

In the wake of the global covid outbreak, the parade, that draws lakhs of spectators each year, had to be downsized to accommodate only 80 cars due to space constraints, compared to the usual over 200 participating cars.

Tickets for the daytime experience are scheduled by hourly visits from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Children 12 and under: $6.50

Adults: $12

Nighttime Experience tickets:

General admission: $43.25

Reserved VIP table of four: $1,034.25

Note: May 15 Nighttime Experience is Sold Out.

Visitors will be mandatorily required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
